Erdemen Honor 3 is almost done and the first half is actually out to beta readers while I finish the last few scenes! The massive rewrite that I began in November 2013 is now almost complete. I’m much more excited about it’s turning out. The extra time was definitely worth it.
I’m also nearly done with final edits for the first book in my Christian dark urban fantasy series, now called A Long-Forgotten Song. The first book is titled Things Unseen, and I’ve already approved a digital sketch for the cover art. It’s amazing! I’ll be getting feedback on the second book soon, but don’t expect to be able to spend much time on it until this fall. Baby Brightley #2 will probably be arriving in early May, so I’ll have my hands full with real life obligations for a while. I hope to have Book 2 ready to publish before Christmas though, if all goes well.

I just wrote the last scene in the second book in the new urban fantasy series! This first draft is rougher than the first draft of the first book, but I’m incredibly excited about the story!

I’ve been struggling with Book3 in the Erdemen Honor series, which I owe to my Kickstarter backers and myself. I think I’ve gotten a few things straightened out, but of course now I am swamped with real life concerns (consulting work, house renovations, etc.). Book3 currently stands at about 48,000 completely disorganized words. I’m hoping to have a few days to focus on it soon. Once I have the framework better organized, I think the writing will come more easily.
In contrast, I’m already about 30,000 words into the draft of Book2 in the supernatural thriller series. Book1 is out to a few beta readers and I’m waiting on feedback.

The first draft of a new urban fantasy is completed!
This book grabbed me by the collar during Christmas and wouldn’t let go. I’m incredibly excited about this new project! It’s the most ambitious story I’ve imagined, and I’m struggling to do it justice. It’s a fast-paced urban fantasy / supernatural thriller, with Fae, vampires, and other monsters, a dystopian government, and questions about what it means to be human. If you’re a fan of Ted Dekker, you’ll love this!
It’s a series, and I’ve just started on Book2. Unlike the Erdemen Honor series, this is more of a huge story with natural breaking points, so there are quite a few questions left unanswered at the end of Book1. There are also story threads to be woven back into Book1 as I learn more about the world and the characters, so editing will be a challenge. I’m hoping to publish the first book this winter, perhaps in late November or December.

Kickstarter Campaign Successfully Funded!
This project partially covers the costs of the cover art, editing, and some marketing materials for Book3 in the Erdemen Honor series. I’ve written about 40,000 words on it so far. I can’t know for sure, but I think the final length will be around 90,000 words.
