Support a Fellow Indie Author – Brandon Barr

This post was sent as an email to my subscribers yesterday. If you’re not a subscriber, you can subscribe right now! You get a free short story for signing up. What do you think of my new email header? I think I like it. Cara (the owl) is so very dignified.

A fellow indie author, Brandon Barr, faced leukemia last year. A little over a week ago, he found out the leukemia had returned, and he’s already had his first round of chemo.

I can only imagine how difficult this time is. I don’t know Brandon well, but I know he has a lovely wife and three young children.

When he announced this setback to his own mailing list, he spent very little time on his own struggle and more time talking about the generosity of JA Andrews, a fellow indie author who volunteered to take over his mailing list while he’s undergoing treatment. JA is, indeed, a wonderful, generous author – she’s one of my newest, best indie author friends and an enthusiastic supporter of noblebright fantasy. But I also thought that spoke well of both of them – that Brandon would focus on being thankful and kind to the people around him, and that JA would jump in to help a friend in need (even though their friendship was very new).

If you’d like to support and encourage Brandon by purchasing a book and/or joining his mailing list (and getting a free prequel novella), click the images below. Her Dangerous Visions is the first book in his science fantasy trilogy; it’s $2.99 on Amazon. The whole trilogy is $8.99 on Amazon. Ella Dethroned is the free prequel (free on Instafreebie for joining his mailing list. It’s $0.99 on Amazon.). I’ve just started reading Her Dangerous Visions, and it’s dark, beautiful, and inspiring. Plus, the covers are absolutely gorgeous! You can also follow his progress on his YouTube channel here.

JA’s books are below. I had the priviledge of beta reading A Keeper’s Tale: The Story of Tomkin, which just came out this week, and it is an immensely enjoyable noblebright fantasy novella appropriate for all ages. A Threat of Shadows is a bit more adult in themes but still clean and firmly noblebright. Both are $0.99 on Amazon. I recommend them both.

Thank you for your prayers, kind thoughts, and support for both of these lovely authors.
